Nitrox Diving is diving with air with a higher % of oxygen added to it. During the NAUI Enriched Air Nitrox course, you will learn how to choose the proper blend of Nitrox for your dive profile, determine maximum depth limits for your Nitrox mixture, analyze your breathing mixture, and plan and safely execute each dive.
You will be taught the physiology of oxygen and nitrogen; advantages, disadvantages, and risks of nitrox; oxygen toxicity; hazards and precautions of handling oxygen; the concept of Equivalent Air Depth; use of EANx with standard Air Dive Tables; common gas mixing procedures; and more.
The NAUI Enriched Air Nitrox course is a mixed gas program that forms the basis and introduction into diving with mixtures other than air, 21% Oxygen and 79% Nitrogen.
Upon successful completion of this course or program, graduates are considered competent to utilize EANx (up to EAN40) in open water diving activities without direct supervision, provided the diving activities and the areas dived approximate those of training
